Chengelo Primary Celebrates Youth Day
Chengelo Primary celebrated Youth Day with some exciting activities on Monday 12th March. There was a role reversal in the morning as pupils came to school wearing their casual clothes and staff came wearing school uniform! Primary schools lessons are always fun but they were made extra enjoyable on this special day, with plenty of outdoor learning and educational games in class.
A special assembly led by Mr Henry Kasonso, the School Chaplain, encouraged the children to communicate and reminding them that they will outlive all the types of communication that technology offers us.
In the afternoon, there were plenty of house competitions to keep the children and staff busy. The Lower Primary pupils enjoyed an Inter-House Cross Country Relays competition, with Kudu victorious on this occasion. Kudu were also the victors in the Upper Primary boys’ football tournament, with plenty of skills and goal-scoring ability on show! Impala girls won their netball tournament which featured some of the pupils who were part of the under-13 team that achieved great success at Ndola Trust at the weekend.
All in all, it was a fantastic day that allowed the children (and some staff) of Chengelo Primary to enjoy their youthfulness!
