Sixth Form boys celebrate International Women’s Day
Students in Sixth Form carried out an assembly last week on the 8th of March, to celebrate and commemorate the achievements of women throughout history and across nations. This year’s theme was ‘Press for Progress’.
The boys took photos of themselves and printed postcards with various inspiring messages, placing them in different areas of the school to raise awareness that equality doesn’t just happen, but that it takes effort and boldness to stand up against injustice. The boys also took time to write words of encouragement to their fellow female students to support them in striving for fairness and equality in different spheres of life, from business to politics to education. During their assembly they looked at what our lives might be like if all girls and women vanished?
Needless to say, we are better, together! Happy International Women’s Day!
