Race Time!

This term, our Form 1 Design & Technology classes have been designing and building elastic band powered drag racers in a competition to see whose can be the fastest!

Their hard work culminated in a series of races which led to a champion being crowned from each of the three classes. A prize was also on offer for the best looking design, which was judged by our Technician, Mr Sam. The drag racer has helped the students to discover more about propulsion, stored energy, friction and structures and really made them think about how to best turn some wood and an elastic band into a drag racer!

Race day was an exciting event and we look forward to their problem solving and engineering skills being developed over the coming months and years.
