Chengelo Tops Medal Table at ISAZ National Athletics Competition

Chengelo competed in the ISAZ national athletics competition held in Ndola at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on 8th June 2019. The categories were in U14, U16 and U19 for both boys and girls.

It was another solid representation by the Chengelo students who were building on the foundation of great performances from previous years. Chengelo girls were overall winners and were crowned champions of 2019. The boys missed the crown by a mere 6 points; largely because of injury to the relay team members on the day.

The U16 Boys 4x100m relay team (Marcus Nalubamba, Asagile Angetile, Emmanuel Bangala and Kababa Karabasis) set a new record of 44.88 seconds after a splendid display of relay change-over technique.

Chengelo were once again the best performing school for boys and girls and finished with the most medals at 42: 17 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze.

Well done to the teams and we give glory to God for the wonderful talent on show and for the eventual victory.
