A Perfect 10 for World Toppers Chengelo School

Chengelo School is once again on top of the world after Lilly Brubacher, a student at the school, gained the highest marks in the world for the Cambridge IGCSE Agriculture Exam, taken in the November 2023 Examinations.

A “Top in the World” Cambridge Award refers to the learner who has gained the highest standard mark in the world for a single subject. Around 1.5 million students from 150 countries and more than 6000 schools enter Cambridge exams every year, so for Lilly to have achieved this is truly outstanding. Lilly, when told of her success said, “This achievement is such a great honour. Special thanks to everyone who was there to help me and to the school for the opportunities it has given me to reach this far. To God be the Glory, amen!”

Paul Vines, Principal of Chengelo School said, “I am thrilled for Lilly on her outstanding achievement. Thank you for continuing our record of academic excellence.” For Chengelo, this is the 10th time in as many years that our students have achieved the prestigious ‘Top in the World’ award. Subjects in which students have topped the leaderboard before include Psychology, Computer Science, Design and Technology, Business Studies, Mathematics and Agriculture.

It is a joy to celebrate the success of our students, and a delight to see that Chengelo School has provided the platform from which Lilly, and so many of our other students, could flourish in such a remarkable way.

This recognition of academic excellence from Cambridge also serves as a wonderful reminder that our school in Zambia, when placed on a global platform, competing against thousands of prestigious establishments, is recognised as one of the best.
