This dynamic role involves providing spiritual, educational, and administrative leadership while ensuring the school's mission is upheld.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leadership: Provide strategic vision and leadership across all areas of the school, fostering a Christ-centred and inclusive culture.
  • Academic Excellence: Oversee curriculum development and ensure high academic standards.
  • Pastoral Care: Promote pupil and staff well-being, discipleship, and character development.
  • Operational Management: Manage resources, budgets, and staff to ensure efficient operations and sustainability.
  • Community Engagement: Act as the public face of the school, building strong relationships with parents, partners, and the local community.
  PERSON PROFILE Essential Qualifications:
  • A recognized teaching qualification, or equivalent degree for work in an educational setting.
  • Postgraduate qualification such as a master’s degree in education, educational leadership or educational administration.
  • Significant senior leadership experience, preferably as a headteacher or principal.
  • A mature, active Christian faith and a commitment to discipleship and the school's mission.
Desirable Attributes:
  • Experience with outdoor education and cross-cultural communities.
  • Innovative approaches to education, particularly experiential learning.
  • Strong communication and team-building skills.
  REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS
  • Salary commensurate with experience.

Located in a beautiful setting in rural Zambia the school comprises both Primary and Secondary sections as well as an Outdoor Education Centre. We are looking for a skilled Electrician with at least 3 years of experience and a proven track record of troubleshooting electrical faults, connecting power to structures, estimating project costs, teaching apprentices and ensuring compliance with all electrical practices.   PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Electrician, ensures a safe and constant supply of electricity within the school by securing power lines, managing new connections, reviewing and upgrading old systems, installing and connecting power according to regulation. Maintains and provides for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems in school facilities.   MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Monitor and ensure a safe supply of power from ZESCO and the generators to the school
  • Ensure safe connections of power to buildings
  • Run the generators as directed
  • Replace, fit and monitor light fittings, sockets, switches and other related electrical items
  • Service and maintain school electrical equipment
  • Repair faults correctly and advise on safe practices
  • Use the correct equipment and tools to carry out tasks and maintain safety at all times
  • Isolate unsafe connections and exposed wire
  • Communicate all concerns to the Site Manager
  • Carry out any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
  QUALIFICATIONS
  • EIZ registered
  • Proven experience working in a maintenance role
  • Minimum of Trades certificate in Electrical
  The role equires flexibility and understanding that all maintenance staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of work to meet the goals of the Site team. Chengelo Training Farm Background

Chengelo Training Farm (CTF) is located in Mkushi, Zambia and was set up in 1994 with the vision to be a place that inspires and equips the leaders of today and tomorrow with a Godly vision, knowledge and passion for agriculture. The farm has 3 aims:

  • To provide a reliable and consistent supply of quality and nutritious fresh food to the school and community.
  • To provide a practical base to support the teaching of agriculture to pupils at Chengelo School.
  • To "reach out" (be a witness) into the local community by sharing knowledge and training in agriculture.
The farm currently comprises of a dairy, piggery, broiler chicken units, vegetable garden, orchard and a butchery. There is a training centre that provides an excellent venue for agricultural training. There is a Christian partner ministry based at the training centre called Foundations Zambia which does stewardship discipleship ministry in local communities. CTF is pursuing a regenerative agriculture vision and requires a talented individual to lead the farm through the next season of its growth.   Farm Manager Responsibilities
  • Oversee existing operations, managing and working with the Production Manager and Business Manager to ensure the farm operates on a financially self-sustaining level.
  • Manage the development of each department in-line with the regenerative agricultural vision of CTF.
  • Research and introduce new regenerative farming principles to existing operations.
  • Engage and work with Chengelo School teachers to make the farm accessible to every pupil, contributing to their understanding of food production and sustainable stewardship of the land.
  • Develop, market and run an excellent programme of training courses.
  • Take the lead on investing in the spiritual health and capacity of our farm employees.
  • Report to and work with the CTF Management Committee to achieve the strategic goals for the farm.
 

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have a mature Christian faith and a sense of calling to serve others through agricultural training. They need a passion for sustainable/regenerative agriculture and have strong leadership, communication and business management skills. They should also have an ability to engage with children of all ages. If the candidate is married, there may also be serving opportunities for the spouse on the farm or at Chengelo School (www.chengeloschool.org).

 

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree qualification in agriculture.
  • Experience in running a regenerative livestock operation.
  • Experience in managing business finances. Recommended Qualifications & Skills
  • Dairy and piggery management experience.
  • Certificate and experience in Artificial Insemination.
  • Feed mixing experience and good understanding of animal nutrition.
  • Horticulture and orchard management experience.
  • Machinery maintenance experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Butchery or food production experience.
  • Food hygiene qualification.
  • Drivers licence.
