Scholarships
For many years Chengelo has operated an Assisted Places and Bursaries Scheme. This has provided some support to parents involved in full-time Christian work, those working in the local farming community or those experiencing some temporary financial difficulties caused by issues such as bereavement.
We are delighted to be able to extend these schemes this year with our new Scholarship Programme. For the first time students will be able to access assistance with Chengelo School fees by virtue of their own merit.
Scholarships will be available for students with exceptional aptitude in academics, sports, Christian leadership or music and drama.
Academics: All applicants to Chengelo School sit standardised assessments as part of the enrolment process. Exceptional scores in these tests alongside excellent school reports over the previous two years, will entitle students to apply for an Academic Scholarship.
Sports: Students applying for this award must be regular participants in their school sports teams and have participated in at least one sport at a national level.
Christian Character and Leadership: In line with the school’s vision to develop future Christian Leaders, students who have a record of leadership in their churches or church youth groups and schools may apply for this scholarship.
Artistic Talent in Music or Drama: Students applying for this award must have recorded evidence of their performances both within school and beyond, showing regular evidence of exceptional talent in at least one area.
