Primary Rum Doodle Award
The Primary Rum Doodle Award is a vital part of Chengelo School’s Christian Outdoor Adventure Education. The Award enables pupils to develop confidence, independence, courage, social skills, physical fitness and problem solving ability through 15 unique adventurous challenges. The Award is completed during Grades 5, 6 and 7. The challenges include exciting activities such as climbing, camping, knot tying and canoeing! For each challenge completed pupils will receive a badge towards their award. Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards are given to students earning sufficient badges. Academic credits are taken into account to encourage all round performance. The Extreme Award is a special prize given to pupils who have earned all 15 badges – an amazing achievement!
Secondary Rum Doodle Award
This is the ultimate Chengelo adventure award, only for those who want to take their adventuring skills to the limit! It consists of 12 different disciplines which the Secondary students have to complete in their time at the School. These are:
- White water rafting at Kapishya Hot Springs
- Rock climbing- Waynes Wonder, Eagles Nest and Greg's Terror
- Tree swings at Ropes Course- Kamakazi, Big Swing, Platform Swing
- Donut Dunk water dive at Kundalila Falls
- Rock Ridge 18 km run or mountain bike
- Tree Solo- spend the night 25m up a tree
- Mountain Climbing Mt Sancha (aka Rum Doodle!) and Mt Mumpu
